Wis. - One thing the state Legislature won’t vote on during the next 2 days is the legalization of marijuana for medical purposes. The bill’s main author, Assembly Democrat Mark Pocan of Madison, told supporters Tuesday the idea is dead for this session.
Patients who say that marijuana reduces their pain fought hard to get legislators to see things their way. But Republicans rejected those arguments when they had control – and with Democrats in charge now, supporters said it was their best chance to get the long-running bill passed. But even some Democrats wondered how authorities could stop marijuana from getting out of patients’ hands. Other lawmakers feared it would eventually lead to the full legalization of pot. http://www.420magazine.com/forums/in...dical-pot.html |
