The Legislature will not vote on a bill to legalize medical marijuana on its final day in session Thursday, killing the bill entirely.
Now, advocates must introduce a new bill in the fall in order to have a chance at legalizing the drug for medicinal purposes. Advocates had hopes the current version of the bill would pass under a Democrat-controlled Legislature. Neither the Senate nor the Assembly has scheduled a vote on the bill for Thursday. Supporters of medical marijuana say the drug helps chronically ill people deal with pain best. But opponents of the bill, including the Wisconsin Medical Society, say there are other, safer alternatives to alleviating pain. http://www.420magazine.com/forums/in...uana-bill.html |
