Hawaii - Detectives from the Area II Criminal Investigations Section are investigating a robbery in Waimea reported at 7:15 a.m. Thursday (April 22).

A 38-year-old Kamuela man reported that he returned home after his morning walk to find a male intruder, who threatened the victim with physical harm and removed two medical marijuana plants from his house.

The suspect is described as Caucasian between the ages of 18 and 22, about 5-foot-10 with a muscular build. He was wearing blue jeans, a black pullover sweater with some kind of emblem on the front, and a black or blue Vulcans baseball cap.

Police ask that anyone with information about this case call the Police Department's non-emergency line at 935-3311. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 392-8181 in Kona. All Crime Stoppers information is kept confidential.
