Santa Cruz officials are requiring the city's medical marijuana dispensaries to disclose sales and other financial information to make sure they are not violating their nonprofit status.
The city council voted unanimously for the requirements on Tuesday, and the city's two authorized dispensaries say they are on board. The ordinance requires Greenway Compassionate Relief and Santa Cruz Patients Collective to provide tax documents, break out their sales by zip code and disclose what kind of marijuana products they grow and sell. Councilmembers say the goal is to ensure that any profit the dispensaries make is reinvested in the businesses. The dispensaries said they appreciated that city officials had worked with them to create the ordinance. http://www.420magazine.com/forums/in...pot-shops.html |
