I enjoyed the marijuana articles that appeared recently.
As a police officer for 11 years and a lifetime conservative, I initially was skeptical about marijuana becoming legal for certain medicinal purposes. However, I read your articles with an open mind and thought about a few things, like how in my career, I consistently respond to acts of domestic violence, barroom brawls and out-of-control house and hotel parties that are mostly caused by excessive alcohol abuse. I don’t recall a time where marijuana was to blame in these incidents. I have encountered combative drunks so often, I’ve lost count, however, I don’t remember a single occasion when I had this problem with someone who was under the influence of marijuana. I wonder how many people are in need of treatment or currently in treatment for abusing OxyContin, Vicoden or other legal prescription pain killers in comparison to people who are addicted to pot.
