For some years now Tesco has been widening its range from groceries into homeware, clothes, even telecoms and banking.
But one woman at the company’s annual investor meeting thought the company had gone even further and demanded to know why it has started selling cannabis plants. Chairman David Reid said: “I am not aware that we are selling cannabis. Apparently the margins are quite good but we do not think this is a reason for us to be selling it.” Last month police did discover a cannabis farm in a unit owned by Tesco but there is no chance the drug will be offered in-store.
