GREAT FALLS – A man who had four permits for medical marijuana businesses in Cascade has filed a lawsuit against the town for revoking one of his licenses after it passed a temporary moratorium on such businesses.
Leon Tirums of Cascade filed the lawsuit on Aug. 18 in District Court in Cascade County. Representatives of the town of Cascade declined comment Tuesday. The lawsuit includes a transcript of a closed meeting in June in which the town council revoked Tirums' license for Montana Homegrown, saying state law prohibits caregivers from being medical marijuana users. Tirums says he is a registered medical marijuana user. The council passed the moratorium before the closed session. Tirums continues to operate a medical marijuana business in Cascade using his other permits.
