Members were assisted by the RCMP Helicopter Services even though this was not a planned flight operation for this purpose.

Dozens of fully maturing plants worth thousands of dollars when fully cultivated were seized.

Police are investigating to determine who put the plants in this location.

According to the RCMP, given the time of year it is not uncommon for the public to come across drug-grow operations in the wooded areas when hunting, hiking or berrypicking, or doing similar activities.

Police advise that if a person happens upon a suspected drug grow, do not handle the material or go near the grow area. Some security and safety issues could arise.
