Tangier (North), June 28 - Moroccan customs services of Tangier seized, here Wednesday, over 340 kg of resin cannabis, locally known as chira, worth some USD 4.1Mn.
The banned substance, which was destined to the Italian market, was concealed in a car registered in Italy. The driver, a Moroccan expatriate in Italy, was arrested for investigation. In mid June, Customs services of the city seized more than a ton of cannabis resin. The seized quantities were concealed in two TIR trucks and a car belonging to a Moroccan expatriate in Belgium. The customs are currently using a mobile scanner, which enabled in December to seize a record quantity of 11 tons of hashish aboard two TIR trucks in Nador. This device has helped foil many smuggling attempts, the most important of which was three metric tons of cannabis resin seized, in April, by the Moroccan navy north of Nador. ![]() News Hawk- User http://www.420magazine.com/ Source: Maghreb Arabe Press Contact: - Maghreb Arabe Presse - = Copyright: Maghreb Arabe Press Website: Maghreb Arabe Presse: Over 300 kg of cannabis resin seized north |
