(Dwayne Michael Carter Jr) was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a weapon according to reports. Lil Wayne was arrested Sunday night shortly after a concert at the Beacon Theatre.

Officers allegedly spotted Lil Wayne, 24, and an acquaintance smoking marijuana by a tour bus near 61st Street and Columbus Avenue at about 11:30 p.m.. After finding a .40-caliber pistol the Lil Wayne and the acquaintance was taken into custody. He was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and marijuana.

During the show, sources state that Lil Wayne made comments from the stage that he was being harassed by the police before his performance, and threatened that he wouldn't perform in New York again.

One hour prior to Lil Wayne being arrested, Ja Rule (Jeff Atkins) and an acquaintance was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a 40-caliber pistol after speeding on West End Avenue in New York.

In other news, Lil Wayne is featured on the new single "Uh Oh" with Ja Rule who is attempting to make a comeback after approximately two years off the scene with the forthcoming album "The Mirror" due to release September 25.

On October 18, 2007, Lil Wayne is expecting to release "I Can't Feel My Face" a collaborative album with Juelz Santana.
