A CANNABIS factory was discovered at a house by police yesterday with 500 plants inside. Police officers went to the house in Windmill Avenue, Kettering, after a report of suspicious activity.

Officers discovered that the house had been turned over to cannabis cultivation and sealed the property off. Nobody was at the address at the time and the house remains under police guard this morning.

Police and forensic investigators will be working at the property today and investigations will continue to try to establish who is responsible for the house.

Detective Sergeant Paul Powell of Northamptonshire North Crime Investigation Unit said: "This seems to have been a highly professional production facility with a substantial number of cannabis plants."
