A Canadian facing jail time in the US for allegedly selling marijuana seeds over the internet is trying to poke holes in the Prime Minister's new anti-drug strategy, "That’s putting a lot of people in jail, but it will not stop the drug trade, nor people using them."
Marc Emery is a long-time crusader for legalizing pot who fears our jails will soon be full of drug dealers. "There are 250,000 people in the marijuana industry and they all risk going to jail now, for mandatory minimums of two years. A quarter-million people at risk of going to jail is going to fill the jails up really quick and ultimately attract more and more peo ple into the drug industry because the price will go way up." Emery says the new anti-drug strategy should be an election issue because taxpayers will be footing the bill for putting more dealers behind bars. http://www.420magazine.com/forums/in...-strategy.html |
