Two British college students, who were nabbed trying to leave Jamaica with more than 70 pounds of ganja, got lucky Thursday when they were only given a suspended sentence instead of being sent to prison. Natalia Brown and Charisma Crichlon, both 18, pleaded guilty to drug trafficking when they appeared before the Half-Way-Tree Criminal Court.
The Britons say they came to Jamaica 11 days ago on vacation. They admitted to Senior Magistrate Glen Brown they were asked by a man living in England to take back the narcotics. The Narcotics police reported that on Monday, the two were preparing to board a flight to London when the ganja was found in their luggage. The ganja is worth millions of pounds on the streets in England. However, instead of imposing a prison sentence, the magistrate gave them a 12 month suspended sentence and ordered that they be deported to England. They were also fined $160,00 http://www.420magazine.com/forums/in...g-attempt.html |
