Five Tallahassee law enforcement officials involved in a botched drug sting that led to the death of a novice informant are on paid administrative leave.
Police Chief Dennis Jones said Tuesday that the officers will remain on leave until an internal-affairs investigation is complete. The decision was made Monday after the department received evidence in the case and reviewing a grand jury’s findings. On Friday, the grand jury said the police undercover operations were negligent and led to death of 23-year-old Rachel Hoffman in May. Two people were indicted on first-degree murder charges. Meanwhile, a state senator has filed a bill to compensate Hoffman’s parents. Hoffman was recruited as an informant after police found marijuana in her apartment. http://www.420magazine.com/forums/in...ead-leave.html |
