BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. -- Two people are accused of stealing marijuana while impersonating the sheriff's department and the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Butte County Sheriff's Office said Thursday.
There have been a total of five reports of marijuana thefts in Butte County this season, resulting in two arrests, officials said. Law enforcement agencies are concerned that because the alleged robberies are being committed by people impersonating officers, there may be a lack of trust by residents when confronted by real law enforcement officers, the sheriff's office said. Two of the alleged robberies included shots being fired, officials said. The Butte County Sheriff's Office said they want people to know that when contacted by law enforcement, officers should show identification such as a badge and patches that say "Sheriff," "Police" or "DEA." http://www.420magazine.com/forums/in...aling-pot.html |
