Schapelle Leigh Corby (30), an Australian drug trafficker who serves 20 years in Denpasar jail, will have one month sentence cut as part of Christmas day celebration this week.
"The one month sentence cut will be given to Corby and other Christian prisoners to mark Christmas Day," Bali Justice and Human Rights regional office spokesman Anak Agung Anom Suryadharma said here on Wednesday. Suryadharma said the Australian former beauty therapist is one of eight foreign inmates who have special remission on Christmas Day this year. Indonesia traditionally gives remissions every Independence Day on August 17 and also on some religious holidays such as Idul Fitri and Christmas. According to Suryadharma, the special remission given to Corby this time was the third after she got two-month sentence cut in 2006, and three months off as part of independence day celebration on August 17, 2008. Schapelle Leigh Corby, a 30 year old Australian was traveling to Bali Indonesia to celebrate her sister`s birthday, but her dream holiday ended up a waking nightmare when on October 8, 2004 she was arrested in the Denpassar airport after 4.2 kilograms of marijuana was found in her boogie-board bag. http://www.420magazine.com/forums/in...tence-cut.html |
