With the budget crunched, those drug law reforms keep rolling along.
On the heels of yesterday morning's spectacular Pam Roach performance, the Senate Judiciary Committee reconvened yesterday afternoon to pass out the bill that would make marijuana possession (40 grams or less) a civil infraction. In short, you'd get a ticket for your weed, instead of handcuffs and a criminal record. (We haven't watched the footage yet, but no doubt Roach makes it worthwhile.) Also on the drug law front, not only did the Senate pass its overdose prevention bill out of committee yesterday—the bill would protect people who call 911 to report overdoses from some prosecutions—but the House did the same. And the House bill also provides for the distribution of Naloxone, the drug that reverses o****e overdoses. Mazal tov! http://www.420magazine.com/forums/in...drug-laws.html |
