The New Hampshire House is considering legislation to legalize small amounts of medical marijuana.
The House Health and Human services committee will hold a hearing on the issue Monday. Proponents of the bill say this measure is for those suffering from serious illnesses, like AIDS, Cancer and MS. Now the bill seeks to legalize up to 6 ounces of marijuana for medical use only The marijuana would have to be prescribed by a doctor. Supporters of the bill say there it is about time New Hampshire joins 13 other states in legalizing marijuana for medical purposes, arguing it is a humane law for those suffering from pain and unable to find any other treatment. Monday is simply the committee public hearing phase of the bill. Once that happens, it would still have to be voted on by New Hampshire lawmakers. Incidentally just last week, the New Hampshire house killed a bill that would have decriminalized the possession of up to an ounce of marijuana. http://www.420magazine.com/forums/in...marijuana.html |
