I don't know about anyone else, but my faith in in this administration's so called " time for change" war cry before the elections in November is slowly dissipating. His obvious contempt for us marijuana users and advocates should not be taken lightly. For me, the straw that broke the camel's back was his call for maximum sentencing of Charlie Lynch. Under California law, Lynch did nothing wrong. But, in defence of the D.E.A.'s gestapo tactics, the president will hang Lynch and others like him out to dry. Even the judge in his case, has delayed sentencing, keeping the door open to reason. This gives time to argue the "safety valve" provision used in the case against Ed Rosenthal. He ended up being sentenced to one day. Yet, if you have tortured someone, which is illegal under U.S. and international law, Obama believes, you should not be prosecuted. This kind of hypocritical reasoning is nothing but pure D.C. politics. President Obama clearly exhibited his attitude towards the marijuana issue and those who are seeking the legalization of pot. His insulting comments at his Internet town hall meeting displayed just how serious he takes our quest for reform. We really have to voice our concerns to those in Washington, who believe if they ignore us, we'll go away. Myself, I've already written the president, both my senators, and my representative with my concerns and the numbers of billions of dollars that the government can save if they took the blinders off and moved into the 21'st century. We need to make them realize, this issue is important to a lot more voters than they think. It's not the lobbies that put them there, it's We The People who did.
