The members of Hailey's new marijuana and industrial hemp oversight committee have been named.
The committee was created to help fulfill what is left of the marijuana-related initiatives that residents passed in 2007 and 2008. The initiatives, pushed by a group called Liberty Lobby, were designed to legalize the use of medical marijuana, make marijuana enforcement the Hailey Police Department's lowest enforcement priority and require the city as a whole to advocate for marijuana reform, among other things. But the initiatives were gutted by the court earlier this year, leaving the only the city advocacy portion and the required creation of an oversight council intact. The committee includes local residents and business leaders, as well as police Lt. Steve England and Jim Spinelli, executive director of Hailey's Chamber of Commerce. The members of Hailey's new marijuana and industrial hemp oversight committee have been named. http://www.420magazine.com/forums/in...committee.html |
