Police have charged a 24 year old man with production of cannabis following the discovery of 554 cannabis plants at a rented address on Wakefield Road in Denby Dale, Huddersfield, England.

A search warrant was executed at the property at 2.20pm yesterday and the man arrested st the scene is due at Huddersfield Magistrates' Court tomorrow morning.

Detective Sergeant Seth Robinson from Kirklees Drugs and Firearms Team who was incharge of the investigation said: "This discovery was in a private rented property and we would reiterate our appeal to landlords to be on their guard and report anything unusual to police. Tenants may be running up unusually high electricity bills and they may be reluctant to put bills in their name. If they tamper with the electricity they can also cause significant damage to the property which ultimately the landlords will be responsible for."
