A judge Monday declined to issue a temporary restraining order against the city of Westlake Village that could have allowed a marijuana distribution facility to resume operating, an attorney said.
The shop, which opened in late May in a business park, suspended its operations this month after the City Council said it violated a zoning ordinance. The business, Amazing Healing Supply, filed a petition last week in Los Angeles County Superior Court seeking to block the city from interfering with it. William Litvak, a Los Angeles attorney representing the city, said the court declined to issue the order but could set a hearing on the dispute in the next 45 to 90 days. An attorney for the store did not respond to a phone call requesting comment. On July 8, the city adopted a moratorium on marijuana distribution shops after ordering the business to close. Amazing Healing Supply contends it is a medical marijuana collective as defined by Proposition 215, the ballot measure approved by California voters in 1996. http://www.420magazine.com/forums/in...tore-shut.html |
