A Yucaipa man is behind bars today after he was arrested in a McDonald's restroom with a backpack full of marijuana that packaged and ready to be sold.
Sergio Santana, 23, of Yucaipa, was arrested at 7:50 p.m. Saturday in the McDonald's on the 1200 block of Calimesa Boulevard, Riverside County sheriff's Sgt. Sean Bahash said. The suspect appeared to be at the wrong place at the wrong time, Bahash said, because deputies from the Cabazon station went to a call about an unrelated theft at the neighboring Shell gas station, when they spotted him acting strangely. Deputies said they saw someone matching the description of the theft suspect ``in the shadows of the McDonald's parking lot,'' and chased him inside when he fled. Deputies discovered Santana was carrying nearly one pound of marijuana, with an estimated street value of $2,500, ``in separate packaging inside his backpack,'' Sgt. Bahash said. Santana was arrested on suspicion of felony possession of marijuana for sale and booked into the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility, Bahash said. Bahash said deputies do not believe Santana was connected to the theft from the gas station. http://www.420magazine.com/forums/in...-arrested.html |
