Shawano County Investigators interviewed NBC26 Video-Journalist Eric Peterson in relation to their case against a man accused of taking leftover Marijuana from a large pot plant operation in the Navarino Nature Area.
Peterson interviewed Jacob Repinski for his reaction to the pot discovery. Repinski claimed he was a hunter. But investigators say he was picking through pot plants. Repinski was arrested and charged with felony possession with intent to deliver. "When I talked to Jake Repinski about the marijuana find, it could have been just another interview, for just another story. But it turns out Jake may have been breaking the law, and I became a witness to a crime." Peterson recalled. Investigators asked Peterson to tell them everything he saw and everything Repinski told him. "Obviously it's important that when a suspect is seen near the scene of a crime, that you ascertain all the data you possibly can from every source available." Shawano County Sheriff's Department Captain Thomas Tuma told us. Repinski is accused of pilfering pot plants from a large grow site in the Navarino Wildlife Area. He was found with almost six pounds of marijuana and 5 pipes. The Sheriff wants to see our interview where Repinski says he wouldn't recognize marijuana if he saw it. (From our Interview) "I myself would've never thought anybody would do something like that. I could've probably just walked by 'em and never known what they were." But the criminal complaint says Repinski showed deputies the pot in the woods. He even said he was turning it in to police to help clean up the scene. (From our interview with Repinski) "Because otherwise some hunter would've stumbled on it, maybe even a little kid might have picked a piece of it up, or something, and brought it back, got busted with it, or something." Repinski said during Peterson's interview. "We find it extremely ironic, but nothing much surprises us in law enforcement in today's world." Captain Tuma said. The investigator also asked Peterson in Repinski was action strangely. Peterson answered no. "He was calm, and polite, and was on his way." http://www.420magazine.com/forums/in...nski-case.html |
