ELIZABETHTON, Tenn. (AP) -- A plea bargain in which a northeast Tennessee man admitted to drug charges allowed him to escape moonshining penalties.
Billie Gene Arnett got a year's unsupervised probation and was fined $2,000 and court costs. The Johnson City Press reported Arnett also had to forfeit his 50-gallon still, three 55-gallon drums and copper tubing. Authorities also found hundreds of Mason jars at Arnett's home on Buck Mountain in Carter County in January. Assistant District Attorney Ken Baldwin said the 31-year-old Arnett's guilty plea on Tuesday to possession of marijuana for resale came on the only felony count against him. The still was discovered when Arnett's mobile home caught fire. http://www.420magazine.com/forums/in...g-dropped.html |
