(Lincoln, NE)- Two separate traffic stops on Interstate 80 led to the seizure of 141 lbs. of marijuana and three arrests on drug charges.
Shortly before 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 19, 2009, a trooper with the Nebraska State Patrol(NSP) Headquarters Troop-Lincoln, stopped an eastbound 2009, Dodge Journey, for speeding. The stop was made on Interstate 80 just east of the Pleasant Dale Interchange (mm390), in Lancaster County, Nebraska. During the stop the trooper smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A probable cause search was conducted. The search led to the seizure 137 lbs. of marijuana. The marijuana was located in three suitcases in the cargo area of the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle, Fyketa Edison, 33, of Euclid, Ohio and a passenger in the vehicle Chasity Bobbitt, 32, of Cleveland, Ohio were both transported to the Lancaster County Jail. The two females were lodged on charges of Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Deliver. On Wednesday, November 18, 2009, a trooper with Headquarters Troop-Lincoln made a traffic stop on an eastbound, 2009, Hyundai Santa Fe, near the Airport Interchange (mm 399), in Lincoln, Lancaster County, Nebraska. The trooper was given consent to search the vehicle. The search led to the seizure of four lbs. of marijuana. The marijuana, contained in three individually wrapped packages, was located in a storage compartment in the floor of the vehicle. The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, Christopher Lassota, 29, of Fairfield, Iowa was transported to the Lancaster County Jail and lodged on a charge of Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Deliver. http://www.420magazine.com/forums/in...s-lincoln.html |
