A Gustine man could spend the rest of his life in prison for his role in a large-scale marijuana grow that was found in the Sierra National Forest over the Summer.
A Fresno jury has convicted Heriberto Quintero, 54, on two counts of manufacturing and aiding and abetting in the manufacture of marijuana. Quintero was arrested in the Shaver Lake/Jose Basin area back in July. He was located by federal and state authorities who were on their way to clean up a prior marijuana grow when they spotted another garden across the canyon. When quintero was contacted -- he had a loaded handgun in his waistband and told officials he was hired to cook at the grow site for a month. Agents eradicated more than seven-thousand plants from the site and more than 423-thousand pot plants during "Operation Save our Sierras" -- a multi agency operation that targeted illegal marijuana grows on public lands. Quintero faces two possible life sentences when he's sentenced in February and a fine of more than $4 million http://www.420magazine.com/forums/in...-pot-grow.html |
