CALGARY – A call for an ambulance from an industrial area strip mall resulted in no one being found in need of medical help – instead, cops found a marijuana operation worth more than $500,000.
Police said ambulance paramedics were called a medical distress alarm in the 1400-block of 44 Ave N.E. But as ambulance personnel looked in, a man disappeared out of sight. Cops were called because of the possibility someone may indeed be in need of medical help. They broke in and smelled marijuana. “Officers immediately smelled a strong odour of Marijuana while searching the premise for a person in possible medical distress. A male was located hiding in the rafters on the second floor, unharmed and in no medical distress,” police said. “He was arrested as officers discovered a large Cannabis Marijuana grow operation, with an estimated street value of nearly 1/2 million dollars,” police added. A Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrant will be executed on the business premises. The investigation continues. http://www.420magazine.com/forums/in...-pot-farm.html |
