Canada's hemp seed industry is the most advanced in the world according to leaders in European hemp seed processing.

Oana Suciu of Canah Green Living in Romania was in Manitoba to study our domestic hemp sector.

She says Europeans view the Canadian hemp industry, which is based in Manitoba, as their model.

She says Europe is at least five years behind Canada when it comes to the development of their hemp industry and the public's awareness of hemp products.

She says most Europeans don't realize the difference between hemp and marijuanna.

European consumers have also been slower to react to the health benefits of hemp.

One of Suciu's reasons for coming to Manitoba was to look at the farmer cooperation models used in the hemp industry in western Canada.
