TX. - An alleged drug smuggler is behind bars after authorities caught him and others throwing marijuana bundles over a Public Utilities Board (PUB) fence near Brownsville.
U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration agents arrested Jose Luis Barrera-Sanchez on federal marijuana charges Saturday morning. A surveillance system alerted authorities to the presence of six men at a PUB property along the Rio Grande. A criminal complaint filed in the case show that the area is known for illegal immigrant and drug smuggling. Authorities spotted six men throwing bundles of marijuana over the PUB’s 9-foot-tall fence. The men fled with the scene but left behind four bundles with 238 pounds of marijuana. The criminal complaint shows that authorities found Barrera-Sanchez nearby out of breath and sweating profusely. Court records show he’s an illegal immigrant from Mexico. Barrera-Sanchez appeared before U.S. Magistrate Court Judge Ronald Morgan on Monday morning. Judge Morgan denied bond for Barrera-Sanchez until a Thursday afternoon hearing. http://www.420magazine.com/forums/in...-property.html |
