A 53-year-old Oak Lawn, Ill., man has been sentenced to five years in prison for an Interstate 80 stop that turned up 340 pounds of marijuana and $3,000 cash.
U.S. District Judge Richard G. Kopf sentenced Charles McMillin last week to five years in prison and five more on supervised release for possession with intent to distribute more than 100 kilograms of marijuana. On Jan. 7, 2008, a Nebraska State Patrol trooper stopped McMillin for speeding on I-80 outside Lincoln and smelled marijuana coming from inside the car. A search resulted in the discovery of the drugs and money, U.S. Attorney Deborah Gilg said. She said troopers contacted investigators in Illinois, who got a search warrant for McMillin's home in Oak Lawn. There, law enforcement found 111 pounds more of marijuana, plus drug packaging materials, ledgers and $26,960. All the money was ordered forfeited by the courts as drug proceeds. http://www.420magazine.com/forums/in...i-80-stop.html |
