New Zealand - The plot won't be thickening any more for a cannabis grower after a suspected old growing plot was found in the scorched remains of a scrub fire between Te Awamutu and Otorohanga yesterday.
But mystery remains over who was behind the drug growing operation. The Fire Service arrived at the Te Kawa Rd farm about 3.30pm to be confronted with a 400 metre shelter belt on fire. An underground power cable was burnt and powerlines damaged in the blaze. The fire was damped down and brought under control by 4.30pm. A New Zealand Fire Service spokesman said the police were called after evidence of cannabis growing was found at the scene. However, Otorohanga sergeant Andy Connors said this morning no actual plants were found. He said firefighters came across a netted-off area and potting mix during their activities which they believed was linked to cannabis growing. Police searched the area and determined that it was an old cannabis growing plot. Both the farm owner and two workers were spoken to but no charges were laid. http://www.420magazine.com/forums/in...up-flames.html |
