The opening of a marijuana school may be one for the books. The novel idea was hatched by a Southern California couple, who want to educate anyone who is "marijuana challenged."
Chadd and Alysha McKeen, both 39, of Newport Beach, opened a storefront marijuana school in Costa Mesa in Orange County California, and they admit they don’t care that passersby can see six three-foot tall plants through the windows. The entrepreneurial spirit wasn’t lost on the McKeens, who may have opened their pot lessons shop just in time, especially if California’s November ballot initiative to legalize the green stuff is passed by voters. The couple bills their shop as a “medical marijuana information center” that offers instruction on everything pot-related from how to grow marijuana for medicinal purposes to recipes for baking up pot brownies. The plants that they grow in the shop are strictly for teaching purposes, they said. “I want to tell people to stop being afraid of it,” Chadd said, co-founder of Otherside Farms. We want to bring it out into the open.” His wife, Alysha, said of the couple‘s cultivation skills and knowledge: “It’s all self-taught. That learning curve is expensive, so we want to share what we know with people. People can walk in to find out where to get a doctor’s referral for medical marijuana, or how to find an attorney who specializes in medical-marijuana issues.” Authorities said it’s legal as long as they don’t sell the plants or the leaves. http://www.420magazine.com/forums/in...na-school.html |
